Margareta Koltai was born in Stockholm, and grew up in Järfälla and Helsingborg. She completed her studies in Lund and Uppsala since June 2001 she is working as an area representative for Diakonia in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She spends the summers on the farm in Knickarp. In 1991 she was married to Philip Edfast. Hobbies include reading, cooking, skiing and doing the garden in Knickarp. But first and foremost being a parent to Nike.

Philip Edfast was born and raised in Skåne. A slight restlessness lead to studies in a variety of fields, interspersed with several sabbaticals for work and travel. Now slightly stabilised as a surgeon, but still travels extensively. Spends the summers on the farm in Knickarp. Married Margareta Koltai in 1991. Hobbies include reading, cooking, skiing and doing the garden in Knickarp. But first and foremost being a parent to Nike.

Hanna Nike Elisabet Koltai Edfast was born on the 25th of April 2000, making her a proper Dragon Child. Sofar, Nike has grown up mostly in Thailand where she is living with her mother. She attends kindergarten in Chiangmai and is the most proficient speaker of Thai in the family. Hobbies include hopping and mopping, but first and foremost simply being Nike.

In 1996 we thought we had finally settled in the region of Skåne after having moved about Sweden and having spent time abroad for many years. Three years later we knew better, and since 2001 Margareta and Nike are living in Chiangmai, whereas Philip commutes between tiny Notodden in Telemark and Chiangmai.. This, however, is the place we hope to retire to, eventually:

Our humble abode is located on Västerlen, a little known corner of Skåne on both sides of the famous "Landsvägen"; "the Highway", traditionally said to divide Sweden into two equal parts. The nearest larger settlement is the old Hanseatic town of Ystad, and the farm itself was once a dependent to castle Marsvinsholm .

the Cat

Acquired for solely sentimental reasons, the old cat has nevertheless proved to be the most trustworthy servant of the vehicle park. She managed a 4,500 mile trip back home to England without replacement of so much as a single fender. A craving for oil, not always easily satisfed, yes, but what don't we all put up with to keep our Jaguars happy?
